Big Brother and big sister of the year 2025

Here's a combined news article celebrating both honorees:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana Announces 2025 Big of the Year Honorees

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana is proud to celebrate two extraordinary mentors whose dedication, consistency, and heart exemplify the very best of what it means to be a Big.

Mollie Yorks — Faye Robinson Big Sister of the Year

This year's Big Sister of the Year honor goes to Mollie Yorks, whose two-year match with Little Sister Samantha has been defined by patience, encouragement, and genuine care. Through every conversation and outing, Mollie has shown up with kindness — helping Samantha grow in confidence, find her voice, and believe in her own potential. What began as a match has blossomed into a true friendship rooted in trust, and Samantha's family has witnessed that impact firsthand.

Mollie, thank you for consistently showing up and helping your Little believe in herself. That is the heart of an extraordinary Big Sister.

Dwight Douget — Ben Terry Big Brother of the Year

The Big Brother of the Year honor belongs to Dwight Douget — a man whose story with Big Brothers Big Sisters started long before he became a mentor. As a former Little himself, Dwight knows firsthand the difference a consistent presence can make. Years later, when our 30 Bigs in 30 Days campaign put out the call, Dwight answered.

His match with Javien was an instant fit, and their bond only deepened over time — even through hurricanes, relocations, and the miles between them. Month after month, Dwight made the drive to Houston just to show up for his Little. Now, with Javien back in Lake Charles, their journey continues — Dwight in the passenger seat, literally and figuratively, as he teaches Javien how to drive and keeps showing up in every way that matters.

Dwight, thank you for proving that mentorship is about commitment, presence, and love.

Congratulations to both Mollie and Dwight. Your dedication reminds us why this work matters — and why one relationship truly can change a child's story.
